That's right... I'm officially on maternity leave! This baby could come any day now, and I finished up my last portrait session this past Thursday. I am currently booking both portraits and weddings for 2010, but I will not be returning to portrait sessions until March, and I don't plan on shooting any weddings until May. I know it's going to feel like a long time away, but I'm really looking forward to spending that time with my family! (If you are interested in booking a portrait package that consists of more than one session (i.e. "maternity/newborn" or "Baby's First Year") feel free to contact me... I am making a few exceptions for clients who are interested in those packages.)
If you are currently waiting on your images, don't worry! I'm still getting things done from home and have been working hard to finish all of my editing on time. I also still have a few sessions to blog, so please check back often!
And, of course, stay tuned for updates and photos of our new baby! In the meantime, here's a picture I was able to grab of Maggie when I got home from a session this week. She was outside "playing soccer" with Tim and decided to take a quick break in the grass.

drew + allison | warrenton portrait photographer

Drew and Allison are actually at Disney World right now, but the night before they left, we had a really fun session in Old Town Warrenton. We met at the old railroad tracks, and Drew kept me on my toes! (At one point, I actually started chasing him to catch a better photo of him on his bike. I was carrying all my camera equipment. Also, I'm nine-months pregnant. Allison and I cracked up after I came to my senses!) This is the fourth year in a row that I've photographed this sweet family, and I've loved seeing how much Drew has grown. Here are just a few of my favorites!

Drew loved playing on the trains. He kept saying, "ALL ABOARD!" It was so cute.

Thanks guys! I hope you had a blast on your trip!

phoenix | virginia portrait photographer

Is this little guy a cutie or what?! I had so much fun photographing Amanda, Erik, and little Phoenix last week. He was in such a silly mood! I really loved watching him have fun as we made our way around Old Town Warrenton. Luckily, we were able to catch some of the fall colors before they disappeared for the winter!

Thanks guys! I had such a great capturing your family!

zachary | warrenton, va portrait photographer

Last week, I had so much fun photographing Susan, Dave, and little Zach! This is actually my third session with this sweet family, and I've loved watching Zach grow and change! Susan found this amazing field right outside of Warrenton, and I was SO excited when she suggested it for our shoot. The setting was perfect! Here are a few of my favorites...

I love this photo. Zach was looking for frogs. He seems surprised that I was still taking pictures!
love.

I was so happy to end the session back at Zach's house. He has an amazing playground!

Susan, Dave, & Zach: Thanks so much for inviting me out to spend time capturing your family! I had a blast, and I can't wait to do it again!

deanna + jonathan | virginia engagement photographer

Last weekend, I met up with Deanna and Jonathan and we ran around Old Town Warrenton for their engagement photos. I had such a fun time getting to know them better! We spent a lot of our time together laughing, and it made me even more excited for their wedding next summer! Here are just a quick handful from their session...

I think this might be my favorite...
Thanks guys! I look forward to seeing you again soon!
